Tracking Auditory Attention Across Time, People, and Places

In this talk, Dr. Fink will trace the development of her research from early laboratory-based pupillometry studies of fluctuations in attention during music listening to current studies in which more than 30 people are eye-tracked simultaneously during live concerts, film screenings, and audiovisual art exhibitions. She will discuss what these approaches can reveal about attention during real-world listening, as well as the methodological challenges of studying auditory experience across participants, social environments, and longer timescales.
